Hi all, I'm putting together a 1948 Raleigh Record Ace and have recently aquired a proper head clip type stem and bars for it.? I tried to fit it this morning and the stem only wants to go into the fork about 1/8 inch.? I don't want to force it and wind up with a stuck stem, but I'd rather not take the sandpaper to the stem either.? Does anyone know if these generally are a tight fit?? I thought that was a possibility as they may need to be to stay put as well as a more modern expander bolt type.
