Re: Specialized Allez in American Flyer

I have a restored "American Flyer with the full factory Suntour Superbe Pro Components and with the Saturae Anodized HC 20 Rims. Probably the only difference with my bike and the others out there is that I on a regular basis do battle in fast packs (23+) with this bike and enjoy every min. of it, especially the double takes. Garth helped me restore it and can attest to the speed of this bike. If anybody wants to see pics, send me your e-mail and I will.

I bought this crankarm, right only, from Matteo. ?Got it today all the way from Italy. ?You could smell the Florentine air when the heavily ta ped box was opened. ?Given the talk about 50 rings, I was pleasantly su rprised to see a 1960s vintage 50/47 ring set on this one. ?The outer 5 0 ring is very scratched, but the teeth are good, some wear, but good for se veral thousand more miles as a user. ?The 47 has barely been used. ??This crankarm had been repaired at the outer bb opening, so a wall hanger , which is why it is so inexpensive. 144 bcd. ?This set has the lip on the outside of the pedal hole. ?170 length. ?$35 shipped within U. The following Ebay auction has a blue and orange Holdsworth Professional for sale:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item= 280313763876

I always liked that color combination; they also had jerseys in that color that were pretty cool. I do, however, have a question about that particular auction, and the question is only for clarification or a point of reference: did those particular frames have a chromed fork as shown in the auction? I vaguely remember them having the six inches of chrome on the front fork and the remaining portion of the fork being orange, but then there's a lot of things I vaguely remember that did not exist. Mark Twain has a line where he states something to effect, that he has arrived at the age where his clearest memories are of events that never happened. I am getting there.

Thanks.

As stated I am offering a NOS Bob Jackson frames set for sale to the CR list prior to taking it to ebay. Obviously I would prefer to sell this to a list member and avoid listing it on ebay, just less of a hassle. As to the frame set, I am not sure what year it was built, i bought it off a e-bay seller in England approximately 2 years ago and it has never been built, never had wheels, brakes or any components mounted on it. I have provided a link to some pictures I posted on Wooljersey, be sure to look at them in the larger resolution, you won't find any sign use. The frame came with a Campy Chorus headset, I believe this is how it came from the Bob Jackson shop

NOS Bob Jackson Frame For Sale

Price: $ 1,100 shipped in the US (lower 48) included size: 53 x 53 cm cc 130mm rear spacing Serial # T116

I was wondering if anyone can help me find out what year My bike is. What I've figured out and I could be wrong is that it's a Paulo Guerciotti Columbus SL frame. I know it has Campagnolo components but I don't know what group set. All it says is, "Campagnolo Brev. Int". I've also been told it's a 58 cm. It's a beautiful bike. I was also wondering what the best way to advertise for it was. It's much too big for me and I think it would be a shame to run a classic frame to the ground. I would appreciate any help. I have attached a picture if it will help.

If I recall, Shogun's were imported by Seattle Bicycle Supply in the early 80's. They might be able to help if they are still in business.

I am looking for some information on a couple Shogun Touring bikes, Model 20 00, built aprox. '82. They are lugged butted steel, nicely finished, Factor y racks/fenders, Deore drivetrain with Dyna-Drive pedal system. I was told these were a "flash in the pan" and were not imported very long. Is there a webpage , of list member, with Shogun info?

Thanks, David Cowie Oakland, Oregon USA third rock from heat.
