i think it's just aesthetics. it allows the look of a straighter fork blade. it probably has some impact on the ride but i'm not going to do any double-blind testing...
it's worth noting that 3rensho moved away from the offset crown after a few years of employing it.
did anyone besides 3rensho make or use an offset crown?
