You haven't noticed Simplex jockey wheels from the 70's cracking like they were eggs? They are the worst. If you have one, and it hasn't cracked, it's a good sign it hasn't recently been used. There's something about the plastic compound they used that makes them brittle now. I haven't used many NR derailleurs, but I haven't had the problem with anything but Simplex. Thank goodness for SunTour making theirs the same size.
