I'd be happy to volunteer anyway that is needed for the classic bike event. It would be a great opportunity to meet other vintage folks from the area. I'm not sure any of my bikes are fit for anything called a "classic bicycl e Concours d'Elegance" though. That sounds scary. My bikes are all regular Joe daily riders with a lifetime of dings, dents, scratches, and a few torn decals. Having never seen such an event I have no idea what to expect. May be someone can provide some background on how these things work?

Well Mike W. beat me to announcing this to the group!

The Rocky Mountain Bicycle Show is really shaping up to be quite the eve nt this year.? There is a vintage element to it, and I've been enlisted b y the folks organizing the show to help them with that.? Once I get a

handle on the scope of the show, it will be great if CR and the local Co lor ado vintage folks can help out with the display.? Plus, it sounds lik e there will be prizes for entered bikes as well!

The venue f or the show is?great, and the show's timing is fantastic! ? Colorado fami lies are?typically are in town that time of year ( Colorado schools are b ack in session early), but the rest of the country is in vacation mode.? Why not bring the family to Colorado?? In Aug ust, the riding is great in the mountains.? In the metro area, one can get up at the crack of dawn, ride for a number of hours until the heat com es on, then head over to th e bike show!? And the chances of being wash ed out from rides that time o f year is really remote.?

The key to a successful show is getti ng the folks to display, and folks to view.? The show this year is putti ng the PR into overdrive, with the i ntent of building a show with true n ational appeal.? And heaven knows, there are a tremendous number of cycli sts in Colorado - in what other city does a swap meet draw over 10,000 pe ople? (that is how many usually flow t hrough veloswap).

I'll announce this more in the future, but if any CR folks want to come to C olorado and want help planning their trip, I'm happy to assist in any way

possible.? If there is CR interest, perhaps I can coordinate some CR a

ctivities - maybe some rides or gatherings.? So put the date on your c

alenders and come visit!
