My thoughts are that I love most things mechanical, bicycles being first in my youth as they where available when cars or motos where not, especially when your 10 or 12 years old! Logically, I also developed a liking for cars, motorcycles, and engineering too. And though I have seen people from my youth "graduate" in their minds onto cars or motos I still to this day love bikes for their simplicity and pureness in design and efficiencies, something that really does not come to mind regarding cars and motos which I also love, collect and play with still. I think there is a link, not narrowly, but broadly that people can appreciate many things mechanical when they are beautiful or work well, but I have seen over the years that not everyone shares that view - that is: seeing bikes, cars, or anything that is effiecint and mechanical as something to be held in high esteem, mostly only seeing them as emotionally passive tools. I guess we are lucky, or cursed if you ask my ever patient (with my hobbies) wife! Ha! Jack Stanwood Boston, MA. USA
