I am also a member of the group that has progressed thru the stages- Bicy cles {as a youth} , cars {and motorcycles} most of my life. Vintage cars, a nd motorcycles later on once a little more established, finally back to bik es {vintage of course}. For me the cost and time commitment of vintage moto rized vehicles got way out of hand. Vintage bikes give me an outlet for my mechanical interest and the ability to actually complete a project withou t remortgaging the house. I still have some vintage Motorcycles  and  p roject cars, but I am becoming increasingly involved in the bicycles . While it is quite likely I will acquire a few more bicycles , I doubt I wil l acquire any more cars or motorcycles. I like the fact a bicycle can be ta ckled in a relatively short time rather than the commitment of years or eve n decades an automobile restoration can take. I know lots of people restore a car in just a few years but I don't possess anything near the financial resources such a rapid time line requires.  And bikes do take up MUCH le ss room.
