to be the top of the line rims, there are a number of rims that often

I have 4 pairs of these rims available in sensible 32 hole drillings: I have one pair of silver ones from the mid to late 70's that come from the personal stash of a former pro team mechanic. These rims date from the period in which they were still only supplied to the pros and not yet sold to the general public. These rims are NOS but have some shop wear after more than 30 years of storage. With a bit of Mothers polish they come out quite nicely. For this pair of rims, I would like $300, which includes shipping in the US. (weight about 395 g each)
I then have 3 pairs of hard-anodized dark gray ones from the early 80's. These rims have the red Mavic label with the SSC identification on them as well as the gold decal saying Spécial Service de Course. These rims are NOS and have always been stored in plastic bags. For a pair of these rims, I would like $250, which includes shipping in the US. (weight about 405 g each)
Staying with Mavic, I also have one pair of GP4 rims with 36 hole drilling, the poor man's version of the SSC. These rims were THE rim to have in the early 80's when you couldn't extend yourself financially to buy the SSC's. They are slightly narrower than the SSC and weigh about 395 g each. I would like $150 for a pair of these rims, including shipping in the US.
For the weight weenie, Mavic offered the Record du Monde de l'Heure (which translates to "World Hour Record"). These rims weigh about 264 g each in 28 hole drilling and a few grams more in 32 hole drilling. Like the SSC rims, these rims are a slight bit wider than subsequent rims, making them quite resilient. These rims are not found that often, so if you are planning a weight weenie bike these could be just the thing. I have 2 pairs of these, one set with 28 hole drilling (the weight listed above is the actual measured weight of each of the 28 hole drilling rims) and another with 32 hole drilling. I would like $150 per pair of these rims, including shipping in the US.
The other standard weight weenie offering of the late 70's and early 80's were the Fiamme Ergal rims. These were one of if not the first rims to use the 7075 aluminum alloy. There are many people who swear by these rims. Their weight is not quite as light as the Mavic Record du Monde de l'Heure listed above but the alloy used makes them usable on a day to day basis. The rims weigh in about 290 g each. I have a few sets of these in both 32 and 36 hole drillings. I would like $200 per pair of these rims, including shipping in the US.
Last of all, I have a pair of 32 hole Martano "Bowtie" rims. These were the preferred rims of Masi in the 70's and would have been the rims used on all bikes assembled under the Vigorelli. Like all the other rims listed above, these rims are NOS. These have sold for in excess of $300 a pair on Ebay, there is even a pair right now being offered for $329. Unlike all the above-mentioned rims, these rims require nipple rim washers which will be supplied with the rims. For this pair of rims, I would like $200 which includes shipping within the US.
