Yes, those are the same as investment cast lugs... There is a lot written about them. Google Henry James lugs, he explains it pretty well. They started appearing in the mid to late19 70s and now are about all anyone uses, with a very few notable exceptions. Big topic; read up on it and come back with more specific questions if you have them.

Hello List! Maybe some of the framebuilders out there can answer my question... I have been browsing through old Panasonic catalogs at http://panabike.s-cars.org/ recently (I am quite smitten with some of the top-of-the-line models!) and notice the use of the term "lostwax lugs." Does this refer to a process of lug making? Can anyone explain it to me? Thanks!
