The 1973 Paramount specifications brochure states: "Brooks "Professinal" all-leather saddle is standard. a Unica-Nitor padded leather-covered nylon saddle is a no extra cost option. Campagnolo seatpost is standard."
I believe this was true for several years in that period. I haven't checked all the catalogues, but I don't remember any mention of an Ideale option.

I think the factory had some type of roller bar they used on the saddles to help break them in.
Having said that, lots of owners changed over to the Ideale. I replaced my Brooks for a Unicantor stitched suede saddle on my '72 P13-9. I still remember the serial # (J7279) I never really cared for the ride and sold it after about 3 years and got my Grandis.
