This is a personal sale - not a business sale. You are purchasing my entire Zeus collection. I will be remodelling a room - and once done there will only be room for two bikes. My Zeus and Zeus parts collection has to go.

About the The Bicycle

It is a Zeus Victoria from 1986. The size is 55cm from the center of bottom bracket to top of the top tube. The color scheme is a split blue top and white bottom with traditional Zeus decals. The frame and fork are Reynolds 501 with entry level dropouts common on Peugeot 501 frames from the 1980's. The rear triangle and forks are chromed.

Positives and Negatives Regarding the Bicycle

+ Forks have been re-chromed courtesy of Superior Chrome of San Jose, CA

+ It has a new set of Zeus brake levers with new fully intact Zeus brake hoods. + It has new tires and tubes. + It has a new Sedis 6-speed chain with silver outer and inner links. + The gruppo is Zeus Super-Cronos and Cronos. + The rims are Rigida SX-100 with double-walls and double-eyelet - about as close to Mavic quality Rigida ever got. + The headset is in good condition with a pit free crown race. + All cones, spindles, cups and bearing are in good condition.

- The rear derailleur has Sachs Huret pulleys. - The stem due to rough production has been sanded to remove burs to allow proper insertion. - The derailleur cables are generics - they'll need to be replaced with Campagnolo or Stroh derailleur cables. - The brake housings and cables are generics. - The rear droputs have proper parallel alignment - however the slots differ in their angle of attack. Wheel pulls 2mm to the right unless inserted all the way back in the dropouts. - The 17 cog on the steel Zeus 2000 freewheel is worn and causes chain skip. - The saddle is rather worn but ridable.

Overall this bike has the alignment flaws of a mass produced entry level bike from Zeus - brazed first - aligned in a jig afterward - which doesn't always work out to perfection.

It rides like a criterium bike, corners like one, and bends you over like one. The 13-21 rear freewheel combined with a 42/52 crankset is the icing on the "criterium" cake.

About the Parts Collection

- NOS Zeus Super Cronos hubset in 36 hole including quick releases. - NOS Zeus Cosmos rear derailleur. - NOS Zeus New Racer low profile front brake caliper w/ recessed bolt. - NOS Zeus Cronos front brake caliper w/ recessed bolt. - NOS Zeus 2000 alloy headset - but missing the crown race.

- Two sets of considerably used brake levers without hoods. - One clamp-on front Cronos or Criterium derailleur. - One set of used Super Cronos quick releases. - One set of used braze-on shift levers. - One of very used Cronos brake calipers with recessed bolts. - Bag containing a Zeus axle, spacers, crank bolts, etc.

About the Zeus Catalog

The catalog is a wholesale price list from Zeus for the 1986 sales year. It consists of 4 pages and is original and in very good condition. I have it in a plastic sleeve to prevent damage. The bicycle listed above in not shown in this price list. Included in the price list are STROH's and RAZESA parts and framesets.

The catalog / price list is included since the purchaser of the above is assumed to be not just a collector - but also a history buff like myself.

Sales Terms, Conditions and Arrangements

The sale is AS-IS and first come first serve. I do not want a bidding war - just a sale to someone who likes or wants to collect "Zeus".

As a convenience to those with scheduling difficulties - much like myself - the bicycle will appear with the parts and catalog in a rack at the following location:

Bicycle Express of San Jose 131 East William Street San Jose, CA 95112

(Corner of South 4th Street and East William Street a few blocks from San Jose State University)
