I (mostly) finished this past weekend building up an Alberto-built early 80's Masi Prestige frameset I bought from Lou Deeter a couple of years ago. I'm using mostly Galli, much of it gold anodized. Didn't have a gold colored HS, but I found a place online that had inexpensive Chinese-made gold colored HS's. This place seems to serve "Low Rider" bikes that are apparently similar to the old chopper bikes. But the HS supposedly fit a 1" threaded steerer and a 22.2 stem. So I ordered a couple.
Arrived today, but "Low Rider" bikes apparently use a larger ID headtube, because the ID of the cups is too big for the Masi. But they were cheap, so it was worth a try.
So anyone have a gold colored Italian or English thread HS to sell or trade? Italian made prefered, but anything without a prominant logo not in keeping with a Masi. I have a gold Colnago-branded HS, but it would look too strange on a Masi.
