Mitch:
I go back to the real old school. I take a leather punch and I punch two wholes at the end of the strap. Then I fold it over on itself and sense my hardware store actually carries brass rivets, I slot the mail rivet into the two holes put the female washer over the rivet, take hammer and give it a good whack and viola!, old style strap buttons. Works like a charm and there is no flapping around. If I am not mistaken this was the method used out of the Masi shop.
