I opted for Sun CR18s laced to high flange Campy hubs on my '72 all chrome Paramount and retired the original Weinmann concaves. The Suns are much better built and they certainly have the appearance of period correct with the decal removed, especially the non-anodized style. They also allow the use of foldable clincher tires whereas the Weinmanns require a wire beaded tire. I do not believe there is a better choice in a classic looking modern rim.

If one is looking for a stand in for a classic looking 32 36 hole silver clincher rim - which one would you choose? Assuming you remove the label - which one wouldn't look out of place? Sun CR18? others?
