In the Winter 2008 issue, Bicycle Quarterly had a contest - the first reader to offer an accurate and complete description how the "Funiculo" brake on the 1935 Schulz works won a prize.
The contest was open to all via our web site. The solution was published in the Spring 2009 issue. Now it has been posted online as well:
