I was looking at a Gazelle timeline history, which said that Gazelle was bought by Raleigh (actually, by TI) in 1971, but I could not find out when it was sold - or is Gazelle still owned by Derby in Kent, Washington (didn't they go bankrupt)? Can someone shed some light on this ??

I had a 1972 raleigh grand prix made by Gazelle, and frankly, the Gazelle-made grand prix models were often better-made with cleaner brazing than the Nottingham and Carlton Grand Prix models. I have seen clean Gazelle Grand-Prix's sell for $250 on ebay, and worth it.

According to Raoul Delmare, the Gazelle Tour D'Avenir is the Gazelle-Equivalent of a Raleigh Grand Prix :
