Hi Richard. If you find anything out, please let me know. Kroil should be available at auto supply stores - typically in an orange spray can. I've had only moderate luck w/ solvents of any sort. Pipe wrenches w/ 4 foot cheater bars sometimes work. In general i've considered the seatpost a casualty going in. I've reamed out a few but that is really, really tedious and now i'd sooner throw the frame away. My next approach will be to take a Sawzall w/ a long blade and attempt to split the post [after first cutting it flush w/ the seat cluster.] Anxiously awaiting enlightenment. Ahoy ! While I am searching the archives, I request your indulgence to simultaneously post this question to the list for the reason of urgency. This is the steel-alloy seiziure condition. For reason of the metallurgical-chemical cause of the seziure, I vaguely recall that specific fluids were recommended. Was coca-cola one of the recommended fluids ? What are the recommended fluids ? The name Kroil comes to mind but, I am not sure if that was the medicine for rust or for this type of seizure also. Any suggestions were Kroil can be purchased ? Coca-cola I can probably find. (Oh, must one use Coca-cola of the pre-1983 formula ? hahaha.) Thank you. Regards, Richard Cielec Chicago, Illinois; U.S.A.
