Hi everyone,
Offered for sale to CR members are a couple more frames and parts mostly from the 70s and 80s. Frames cost 75 GBP to be sent to the USA. I can take payment a number of ways - Paypal, cheque in GBP, cash sent registered post, Traveller’s cheques in $ etc. Enquire for shipping costs. With the pound being low in value these are a real bargain... for US buyers. All have pictures you can check out on Photobucket.

HOLDSWORTH CYCLONE FRAME 22in c1955 Fancy Lugs
Seat Tube (ctt) : 22in
Top Tube (ctc): 21.75in
Wheel size: Originally 27 x 1 1/4in - will also take 700C with a brake
drop of approx 63mm
Rear dropout width: 116mm
Bottom bracket threads: English
Frame number: 18809
The Cyclone model varied in its lugwork but this one of the fancier
designs and when refinished properly it will look stunning. This frame
is in very sound condition and belonged to Les Warner who was secretary
of the CTC for many years. It is built from Reynolds 531 double butted
tubing. It does need repainting - I can deliver it free of charge for
the successful bidder to Argos Cycles who I consider to be one of the
best frame painters in the UK. Details on Argos’ prices can be found at

MERCIER ROAD FRAME 56cm 1950s Classic French road frame
Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm ctc
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm ctc
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27in, Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 62mm)
Bottom bracket threads: French
Seatpost size: 26.4mm
This frame is in very sound condition and is a rare example in Britain
of a 1950s French road frame built almost certainly for use with a
Simplex derailleur. The 26.4mm seatpost suggests strongly that it is
built from good quality double-butted tubing, probably Reynolds 531 -
French frames such this one were built with metric dimensioned tubing
(with a 28mm rather than 28.6mm diameter seat tube) and as a result take
smaller seatposts than frames built with Imperial sized tubing. 85 GBP

STURMEY ARCHER STORY THE book on hub gears New Unused copy
Offered for sale is a new and unused copy of The Sturmey Archer Story by
Tony Hadland. This is the definitive work on Sturmey Archer and many
other hub gears too. Anyone remotely interested in intrigue will be
fascinated by how the 3-speed hub gear was not Henry Sturmey nor
Archer’s invention though it carries their name. It also describes in
detail all Sturmey gears in a very practical manner explaining how each
one works etc and has lots of extremely useful illustrations. 192 pages.
