Dear CR List Members, I have for sale a lightly used Men's 1978 Raleigh Competition G.S.,frame and fork in the desirable silver color with chrome on rear seat stays and chain stays (half way).Frameset is Reynolds 531 frame and fork.Rear drop outs are "Suntour Superbe",not Campagnolo as listed in the catalog. If any member has more information on model year I'd appreciate hearing from you. Frame is straight and true.No dents or dings. No rust.Color "Pearl Silver". Cost $250.00. I can deliver this frameset to Cirque 2009. Frame size measured center to center on seat tube: 57 cm. measured on top tube,c-t-c: 56 cm. Measured the "Raleigh way" from the center of the bottom bracket to the very top of the seat tube lug: 23 1/2 inches.I'm also told this is the "English way to measure frames" by Anglophile,Ken Sanford. My Ellis-Briggs is also measured in this fashion according to Ken Sanford, from center of bottom bracket to top of seat lug,it measures 24 inches. It seems like everybody measured the "Masi way" if I'm reading all these posts concerning frame measuring correctly. The "Sheldon Brown" website has the "Retro Raleigh" website information on this particular 1978 model at: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/retroraleighs/catalogs/Raleigh-Catalog-1978.pdf Anyways getting back to my Raleigh Competition G.S. it's "Pearl Silver" in color with gold lug lining and in overall excellent shape. Please see me ad on my local Craigslist for the Raleigh GS: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/bik/1169696324.html Any questions please feel free to drop me a line or call me.
Yours truly,
