I would think these pedals would qualify as KOF, along with such items as Paul Racer brakes, Nitto bars and stems, etc.
Nice looking pedals, but pretty pricey at $195 (without the miniclips). At that price, I'll probably just stick with the Lyotard Berthets that inspired the White pedals. Some CR members have reported breaking axles on Lyotard pedals, but I've never had any problems with Lyotards, Berthets or otherwise. It has been discussed here before that the actual thread diameter of Lyotard pedals, including Berthets, is not very consistent. The diameter is usually somewhere between nominal English and nominal French thread, but there is enough variation that one can find Lyotards marked as French (D & G) that will work with English cranks and vice versa. I imagine the Whites are a lot more consistent in their thread diameter.
I've also noticed that the size of the wrench flats on Berthets, and perhaps other Lyotards, varied over the years. A lot of them are the typical 15mm, but some late ones are larger, 16mm or 17mm, and I think maybe I've seen some with 14mm as well.

\r?\n> I'm posting this that may be OT???
\r?\n> But, this discussion of wide pedals and "Mini Toe
\r?\n> Clips prompted me to post.
\r?\n> I have found perhaps the best City Bike pedal - the New
\r?\n> White Industries
\r?\n> Pedals. They are inspired by the Classic Lyotard Pedals -
\r?\n> so maybe they are
\r?\n> on topic by the fact that they are KOF - if a pedal can be
\r?\n> KOF when no flame
\r?\n> is involved.
\r?\n> I have been riding my new single speed Towne Bike with
\r?\n> these pedals that I
\r?\n> built for the San Diego Bike Show. They are by far the
\r?\n> best, easiest,
\r?\n> widest pedal I have ever found. Coupled with my
\r?\n> "Strapless Mini Clips" they
\r?\n> are wonderful. You just step down and your foot is in the
\r?\n> right position.
\r?\n> I have decided to make a "Special Offer" - the
\r?\n> White Industries pedals
\r?\n> (silver or black) with my Stainless Mini Clips is available
\r?\n> for $267 plus
\r?\n> shipping and handling. That is a $40 savings over buying
\r?\n> them separately!!!
