One of the reasons I joined this list was not just for the comraderie of others who appreciate hand-built lugged steel frames other things classic, but to hook up with those who have that which is hard-to-find. It is a shame that some have taken advantage of a common interest and used it as a tool for exploitation and personal gain.

Honestly I think this is very serious. This damages our mutual trust and strains the bonds we value so much!
I think calling someone a "flake" if they do not do what they say they will do, is too kind.?
This act is a breach of one's word, and such a violation of our promise to one another in this family of enthusiasts is not tolerable.?Of course, there might be (?) mitigating circumstances but I assume we are talking about persons simply not communicating after "staking a claim" to some offered goods.?
I would like to know who among us is not good for their word and, if the wrong is not righted, they should not be welcome "in my garage."?Please sellers (and buyers for that matter) let me know about dishonorable behavior by any CR list member; I will intercede and attempt to protect our community...

Maybe it's considered a breach of etiquette but I'd personally like to see those people (and there have been many similar reports over the years here) outed and named so that the rest of us who are not flakes and will keep our word can continue to avoid Ebay and buy and sell here on-list without having to interact with the flakes. It's probably just a few who have been made unaccountable and spoiled it for everyone else because we are too "polite" to name names. Why are we protecting these people again? It seems stupid and counterproductive to the hobby.
