Subject: [CR] For Sale Two frames with ornate lugs - a Condor-Hurlow and a Holmes

Hi everyone,

Offered up today are two rather nice fancy lugged frames from the 1950s - both are really rather uncommon. Frames cost 75 GBP to ship to the USA.

I can take payment a number of ways - Paypal, cheque in GBP, cash sent registered post, Traveller\u2019s cheques in $, direct bank transfer within the UK or European Iban bank transfer. I will always combine shipping in order to reduce costs.

With the pound being low in value these are a real bargain... for US and European buyers.

CONDOR HURLOW No 2 ROAD FRAME 23.5in late 50s Ornate lugs Seat Tube (ctt): 23.5in Top Tube (ctc): 22.25 Rear dropout width: 120mm Wheel size: 27in, Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 55mm Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 DB Bottom Bracket Threads: English Seatpost size: 27.2mm Bill Hurlow built frames are really rather uncommon - this frame he built for Condor dates I think from the late 1950s. It has his signature curved chainstay bridge as well as the gorgeous clean cut fancy lugs which are immaculately brazed. I rate Bill Hurlow as probably one of the top two or three of the post-war British builders - his work is truly beautiful and accurate. This frame does need renovation, the fork crown has been dinged but that it very easily sorted and one seatstay has a dent from where a rear light was mounted, again very easily sorted. Although almost certainly built for 27s this frame is ideal for use with 700C wheels as the brake drop is a reasonable 55mm with 700C or sprint rims. I can deliver it free of charge for the successful bidder to Argos Cycles who I consider to be one of the best frame painters in the UK. Details on Argos\u2019 prices can be found at http://www.argoscycles.com/renovation-pricelist.htm 375 GBP

HOLMES OF WELLING ROAD FRAME 23.5in Fancy lugs Seat Tube (ctt): 23.5in Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in Rear dropout width: 120mm Wheel size: 27in, Sprints or 700C with a brake drop of 57mm Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 DB Bottom Bracket Threads: English Seatpost size: 27.2mm Holmes was one of the smaller London builders but they turned out some lovely fancy lugged frames and this was one of them. This frame is in sound condition though with some pitting to the top tube and seatstays especially. This will all fill easily when renovated - it does not seriously affect the structural integrity of the frame. 95 GBP
