Jay Sexton asked:

What's the smallest inner chainring you have been able to use with a N.R. front derailleur????With a 50 tooth large ring, for example? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have not been a huge fan of the Campy record FD. But, I have to grudgingly note that it's happy with a really tough wide-range application for me: The Hetchins Italia (early 70s) has a 28 inner, with ~44/48 mid and outer, on a TA cog set with TA cranks. It's a pretty healthy range, and made more difficult because the TA has darned little clearance between the cogs and the arm, so it's hard to play games with cage angle, etc.
