Hi list , unfortunately high charges for international shipping appears to be here to stay. Over the last few years I have seen the shipping charges of frames and especially wheels from England double or in some cases even triple from what eBay sellers were quoting previously I used to buy at least a couple frames a year and numerous components from both England and Europe but the shipping cost has caused a severe reduction in my purchases. My wife might have the opinion this is not necessarily a bad thing were I to consult her. However as a collector I find this frustrating, as there has been a number of tempting frames on EBay this year. In every case by the time I factor in shipping the cost climbs to the probative level and the bid is never placed. I really wouldn't care assuming I had received a 150 % or so pay increase last year but for some reason I find I did not. In the mean time I keep a lookout for sutable items that are already in North America and which won't have a hefty shipping cost added. And at least my employment seems secure for the forseaable future, I know that for several listmembers this is sadly not the case. All the best from Western Canada, a location deluged in lowend bike boom steeds, but where the more interesting stuff is fairly rare.
