Hi Jerry (et al). I'm posting this to the entire list because several other people have written with similar questions, so perhaps others are wondering the same thing.

According to Memoire du Cyclisme, from its inception in 1909, the starting date for the Giro d'Italia has constantly bounced around from late April to early June. The earliest, 1939, ran from April 28th through May 18th, and the latest, 1946, ran from June 15th through July 7th
On average, the race has run from May 17th through June 7th.
For the last ten years the dates have been early-mid May through late May/early June. The 2001 raced ended on June 10th.
