Hmmmm. French (more or less) = Italian = metric. I wonder if you have set of levers pulled from a band-on set. My understanding is that those cannot be fitted to braze-on bosses but I do not know nor whether there is a "hack" that will make them work.Urban legend? Has anyone on the list thoroughly investigated interchangeability that could confirm this?
I have had braze-on levers that had too long a fixing bolt (or, conversely, the hole / threading depth too shallow on the boss). Fixing bolt bottomed out before tighening the lever adequately. Having an installed pair on another bike with very slightly shorter bolts, I switched them across and both pairs work fine. Let us know what works for you.
I'm wondering if I can find a hardward store escutcheon that will work to get one (or more...) of my partial retrofriction levers operational. Haven't found one yet.
