I understand the current Herse/Nobilette/Kone venture has had some of their gorgeous first-class frames chrome plated in Colorado. Perhaps they could share some of the ins and outs with the CR list?
In the UK, Derby Plating is well-spoken of (by Mercian etc.).
I know of a couple of reliable places up here too.
