Subject: [CR] Please help I need some Campagnolo bits. KOF

After a 13 year hiatus, I am now up to 100 mi. a week on my 1988 KOF Skip Hujsak custom. I built it up with C Record components back in the day. It has tens of thousands of miles on it and won't quit ticking. My problem is this........

I've been having trouble shifting, but only in the high gears. That is the chain doesn't tension up properly when it is in the 52X13 gear range. Originally I thought that the chain was just too long. A new Wipperman to the rescue I thought. On closer inspection, it is clear that the C Record rear derailleur has a special no doubt proproprietary spacer between the rear spacer and the Campag. horizontal dropout that is broken/sheared off. This spacer helps take up chain slack in the higher gears. The spacer is broken, not the dropout.

I need one of these spacers. Please help if you can. If necessary I will purchase a complete C Record rear derailleur to get the part. If you can help, contact me off list.

Having said all of that, I am also wanting (not needing) to buy a Campag 32 hole low flange hubset.

Sorry for the long post.

Please help me represent the "men of steel" here in the great state of Louisiana.

Sincerely,
