2009/6/20 <jeff-arg@bizwi.rr.com>: Even though it still rides well, the damage will likely make the frame worth next to nothing to a collector.
This collectors' quirk (the categorical rejection of frames that are structurally and functionally sound because of a minor flaw) it seems to me represents a significant opportunity for people to buy top quality frames that would ordinarily cost a small fortune, might easily be cosmetically beautiful and work perfectly for pennies on the dollar. Collectors can be quite irrational at times about what would from a purely logical viewpoint be minor imperfections. Why not take full advantage of their irrationality?
