Last call before the dreaded e-bay on Friday. Very sad to part with these bikes.
For sale:
1) Early 60's Frejus Tour d France. 55 c-c top tube and 55 c-c seat tube. 9 cm stem. Magistroni Frejus branded h.s. cranks, pedals, hubs. Ballila sidepulls with original lever hoods which are surprisingly VERY supple. Bluemels TdF pump. NOS REG down tube bottle cage. Purchased from an esteemed list member years ago, was in sad original condition when I received it. I stripped it down to bare frame and spend close to 40 hours refurbishing it. Machined new chain ring bolts to replace missing bolts; can't tell the difference from the originals. Re-assembled with all the original components. New cables, brake pads and fresh bar tape. This bike has character (i.e. patina and mojo) Two sets of wheels built around identical high flange Tipo hubs; one clincher set for go using very early Ambrosio rims and brand new Paselas; one set of tubulars- the originals- for show with the original NISI rims and very old tubulars, only one of which holds air. The bonus cool parts are Frejus embossed front and rear fenders. I gave the LOVE to this bike during the refurb. It is beautiful and ready to ride. $900/reasonable offer.
2) Early 60's Olmo Special. Red with gold lettering. Completely original. 57 c-c top tube, 54 c-c seat tube with a 7 cm stem. 99 % original. Magistroni Olmo branded h.s. cranks, hubs. NOS Sheffield pedals. Uni 61 center pulls with Uni NOS levers, lever hoods and adjuster boots. 27 " Fiamme rims. New cables, brake pads and fresh bar tape. Another bike I stripped down to bare frame, cleaned until it sparkled and then put it back together. Beautiful and ready to ride. $600/reasonable offer.
More details and photos to those interested in purchasing. Please e-mail and I will send. I am 5'9" with normal body proportions and both of these bikes fit me perfectly and ride great.
