Aldo, I couldn't help but notice the juxtaposition of the last 2 entries in your blog; i.e. the entry on Gino Bartali, and the photo of the Vel D'Hiv being used as a staging area for the deportation of Paris' Jewish population during WW2.
I mention this because one reason I'm a great admirer of Bartali is the assistance he gave to the Italian anti-Fascist resistance during that era.
