Ahoy ! First:Sincere and abundant thanks to fellow CR Lister Robert Troy and George, his sprightlyfour-legged assistant, for snapping, processing and uploading a photo albumwith photographs of my Villa "Competizione" frame & fork. I knowvirtually nothing about the Villa marque, its history, my particular “Competizione”model bicycle. Also, please note the head badge: The foil, decalcomania headbadge depicts the god, Poseidon, who is the protector of Bologna. And also shown are the Olympic rings and"Los Angeles". I do not know if reference is to the 1932 or 1984games which were held in Los Angeles nor if Poseidon road a Villa in eitherof those games. Comments, criticisms, information, please ? This is bestguess of Chicago area builder who peeped into the tubes; Campag drop-outs.Components: suede Cinelli Unicanator saddle; panto Campag seat pin; pantoCinelli stem; Ofmega (?) chrome steel headset; Campag bottom bracket(silver-grey in colour not black oxide so, maybe Record ?. I suspect the brakes(Weinmann 500 side pulls) and the front& rear mechs: (low lever Shimano or Suntour; I don’t recall) were likelychange-outs.For those of us of a certain age: the colour is a reddish-copper very similar to the reddish-copper used on 1957 Buicks and Chevrolets in that copper-cream two-tone combination.
