is a frame for her personally, but I've been unable to get much definite information about it. It looks like an extremely early Chris Chance. The bike shop owner who sold it to me had it for a long time and used to work in Boston. here are some pix: http://s459.photobucket.com/albums/qq316/augaoo/yellowframe/

Michael, that's a Viner (Italy) model Stella, imported for years by Gus Betat in New Orleans..

Hello all, This looks like the right place. I've been lurking for a couple of days, and the posts I've read indicate an older, deeper interest in old, deep bikes than I've seen in other forums. I'm in my early fifties and my work life started in a bike shop when I turned 16. Working on bicycles paid my way through college until I couldn't stand school anymore. I then went to work in a Ferrari dealership's restoration department & have made my living on cars ever since. I've owned a shop for almost 20 years. My interest in bicycles waned, then rebounded a year ago when my daughter got fixated on fixies while going to college in Philadelphia. She revived my old Frejus track bike which was too big for her, and shamed me into getting on my road bike again. I've since found her two Lejeunes, road & track, which fit her, so I got my Frejus back. I stripped it, had it painted candy apple red and have fallen in love with it all over again. My wife, who cycle toured with me
in the 70s, was delighted with riding regularly again. She has a mid-70s Serotta which was built for her just after Ben Serotta set up shop in Glens Falls. It is gorgeous and fits her perfectly. I have an Olympia Competizione that I got from the first shop I worked at. It was Olympia's sole U.S. importer. My daughter now volunteers at Bike Church in Philly, and supplies her friends with help, advice and vintage bikes. So now I find myself acquiring bikes again! I impulsively purchased a cute 50cm Atala from the 90s with a Shimano 600 group which she almost immediately found a home for. This was part of a package. The other part is a frame for her personally, but I've been unable to get much definite information about it. It looks like an extremely early Chris Chance. The bike shop owner who sold it to me had it for a long time and used to work in Boston. here are some pix:
http://s459.photobucket.com/albums/qq316/augaoo/yellowframe/ I'd love to hear from anybody who recognizes it. The bottom bracket is 36x24, the drop-outs are Campagnolo and the seat post is 26.8 0r 27.0. Finally, and if you've read this far thank you for your patience & indulgence, I have a 60s 58cm Pogliaghi track frame I took in trade for car work. I'd love to trade it for a 51-53cm track bike of similar vintage & quality. Photos here: http://s459.photobucket.com/albums/qq316/augaoo/Pogliaghi/ I'd also love to hear from anybody who owns an Olympia. I love mine and like the fact that they are so rare without being too valuable to ride. ? Michael Shiffer EuroMeccanica, Inc. 114 Pearl Street Mount Vernon, NY 10550 (914) 668-1300 euromeccanicany.com
