Hi All,

Saaveedra is still around in rim manufacturing. At least it was a couple of years ago. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with (forgive me for being terrible with names) the son Saaveedra, who is located in the Los Angeles area. He runs the operation there for several years now. We visited at Interbike regarding the possibility of magnesium rims. At the time he was manufacturing rims for several brand names, both here and internationally, I believe. Very nice guy and introduced me to his father, likewise a good guy. We talked at some length about rim manufacturing etc, but the subject of components did not arise. Back in my glory days, I raced on Saaveedra rims and they were the coolest looking, and perhaps lightest around, which made some riders skeptical, although Mavic and NISI in similar weights didn't seem to bother.
