I think using that lugset forces the builder to go the fugly extended head tube route, unless a non-extended top head lug is an option, which is a shame because otherwise it's a very nice lugset. Funny how people got by for years just fine without extended top tubes. You could even adjust your bar height up or down with no disassembly in seconds to wherever you liked back then. I suppose if we wait another 10 years or so the classic headtube/headset will be rediscovered and everyone will remark how clever, practical and elegant it is.
