Thanks for all the input on the Saronni question. The price list from Greg Softley was an eye opener and I can now see Colnago's role in the current market confusion. To me at the time and today a Saronni is a full racing Colnago with two white bands on the down and seat tubes.
I had never seen a "Saronni" label on a bike (such as the one listed on eBay) and it certainly does not look like any of the bikes I saw in the shops or on the road at the time; those bikes all had Colnago labels. At least any that I saw here in Canada.
My new KOF Colnago Master X is actually referred to by Colnago as a Saronni (Red with white Colnago labels) and looks just much like my old Colnago from 1983 which was SL tubing. (Gave it away the old one in the 90's to a riding buddy who needed a ride after he crashed; his wife wouldn't let him buy another bike)
I'm learning a lot from the group.
