I bought this bike today for something less than asking price. The seller is the original owner with his name nicely painted in script on the top tube. By the layers of dust on the bike, I'd say it's been storage for quite some time. It's a little tall for me but is a great bike so what the hell! Basically it's in good shape including most of the paint except for a 2-3 inch surface scratch on the top tube. In the next few days I'll post some pictures and details of the groupset, etc. The bike is stated to have been built in 1980, which I'd like to check out. I believe Dave Hartranft still lives in the greater Boston area - does anyone have any more information on him.

Dave Hartranft painted many of Chris Chance's custom road frames during this period. He built a few frames on his own, and they were always well built. Unless it is totally beat to death, this bike should be grabbed up quickly; it's a rare treasure.
