I owned an A-D Ultima in a champagny-purplish once. I bought it from an elderly gentleman, together with his A-D Vent Noir. The Ultima was ultimate-ish: very pretty, with all the right bits and pieces - down to the Ti-spindle SuperRecord pedals. After just a bit, I sold it to another list member, but kept the Vent Noir for many years. The ultima was sold again. It's now owned by a member who mostly rides fixed gear. I found it very twitchy and much less pleasant to ride than the less sophisticated Vent Noir, but it might have been an extraordiary crit bike for someone a few decades younger than me. It just didn't suit, which disappointed me.
But, I would have done the great dumpster dive in a heartbeat for another one!

Sounds like an A-D "Ultima" - their Super Record-equipped top-of-the line bike that (according to their catalogue) was assembled in an exclusive section of the A-D factory and shipped in a special foam-lined case. +++++++++++++++++ Steve Whitting
