I'll piggy-back on this thread, since I have an early Bottecchia project I'm working on for a client. The frame I have has the block cap lettering, which is actually a white vinyl sticker with black lettering with world color bands on each end. On the top there is a oval with "Campione Del Mondo 1966", and on the bottom there is a similar oval with "Campione Italiano 1964-65-66-67". Same sticker on the down tube and seat tube (but vertically lettered on the seat tube, of course). This frame also has the nice riveted-on head badge. The frame is the traditional Bottecchia blue, with chrome head lugs, lower-third fork blades and stays, and red lug lining and pin-stripes separating the chrome and paint. Long Campag drop-outs with eyelets. There are absolutely no braze-ons, not even a cable stop on the chain stay. There is also no sign of a serial number. I suspect that this frame is from 1968 or '69, but can't be sure. Any time-line suggestions and/or additional information appreciated.
