I am with you Harry, really enjoying this look back at the cycling scene and the shops that existed then.
Of your scans, I was surprised to see the Simes shop in NJ. I guess I never realized that Jackie Simes family had a shop. Very cool!
Thanks for showing us those adverts,

Listers,
First of all, let me say that I am enjoying this NYC bike shops thread immensely.
to further stimulate discussion I offer you the following from the 1964, 1962 and 1960 ABLA track championship programs - I think you'll have to cut and paste the URL's into your browser...

I know that some of you on this list have extensive experience with scanning old cycling ephemera and I was wondering if I could pick your brains when you have a minute.
Is there a particular scanner or type of scanner I should use (I took the above with my digital camera- obviously not ideal)? Are there any legal repercussions to scanning these sorts of things and hosting them on my website? Things I should know that you wished you knew when you started to scan stuff?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
