I bought a Peugeot from a bike dealer in So. Cal. about 1970. I was amazed at how light it was (I rode a Schwinn Traveler in high school in the mid 50s). It weighs about 21 lbs and my co-workers (in the mid 70s) who were riding centuries & ½ centuries on very nice bikes which weighed 24 lbs, suggested it was a PX10. It was repainted when I got it (white) and the rear quick release was replaced with a Schwinn. The rest is as I got it, including the Hutchinson sew-ups. Looking at the info on PX10s it has all that was listed Stronglight Alum crank, simplex derailleurs, seat post & dropouts, Mafac brakes, Mavic rims and Nervex pro lugs (as I understand them). It does have Normandy hubs and it seems that is diff. than I have seen somewhere. But, it has a 5 digit serial number stamped on the BB #69468.
If I knew what it is, age and what color it was originally, I might consider restoring it. My son is riding more and I was telling him that the frame always had a springiness that I can only describe as a push back when peddling hard that I had never felt before. Any help would be appreciated!
