Offered to CR members are a number of cycling books some of which are really rather rare...

I can take payment a number of ways - Paypal or cheque in GBP, cash sent registered post, Traveller\u2019s cheques in $, direct bank transfer within the UK or European Iban bank transfer. I will always combine shipping in order to reduce costs.

With the pound being still quite low in value these are a real bargain... for US and European buyers.

THE STORY OF THE RALEIGH CYCLE Rare Offered for sale is an excellent copy of the rare 1975 published hardback book The Story of the Raleigh Bicycle by Gregory Houston Bowden, great grandson of Raleigh\u2019s founder Frank Bowden. This well illustrated 216pp book covers the entire history of Raleigh cycles up until the 1970s including its subsidaries in the USA, South Africa etc. It is a reliable history in the most part and chronicles the Raleigh story well up to the 1970s. It has some fascinating early history on the Ti-Raleigh team. 25 GBP

EVERY CYCLIST\u2019S HANDBOOK 1936 Wonderful Offered for sale is Every Cyclist\u2019s Handbook by F J Camm 200pp 1936 Wonderfully illustrated with lots of line drawings of all the top kit of the time and lots of very useful instructions on how to set up the gears etc of the time. Excellent read. 22 GBP

100 YEARS OF CYCLING ROAD RECORDS by Roy Green. This book has some lovely photos and is well written. It details the story of road place to place records in the UK from 1888. 110 pages. 10 GBP

ALPACA TO SKINSUIT Time trialling history UK by Bernard Thompson 47pp with many photos. This was published in 1988 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the RTTC, the governing body for time trialling in the UK. This is an excellent A4 format book that gives great insight into British time trialling. £12

AMERCIAN BICYCLE by Jay Pridmore and Jim Hurd and published in 1995 with 192 pages. This is a great book covering the history of bikes in the USA right from the earliest days up and inclcluding BMX, mountain bikes and recumbents. £12

SCHWINN BICYCLES by Jay Pridmore and Jim Hurd and published in 1996 with 160 pages. This is a great book covering the history of Schwinn including the Paramounts and track bikes. £12

LET\u2019S GO CYCLING Reg Shaw 1950 Offered for sale is a very good copy of Let\u2019s Go Cycling by Reg Shaw and published in 1950. Reg Shaw was at that time secretary of the Cyclists Touring Club and was very influential in touring circles. This book gives a very good idea of what cycle touring was about in the 1950s and gives a good introduction to the kit. It also has some nice period adverts. 227 p plus ads. 10 GBP

THE FOREIGN LEGION by Rupert Guinness and published in 1993. This tells the story of English speaking riders in the Tour de France from the 1970s/80s on specifically - Phil Anderson, Sean Kelly, Sean Yates, Robert Miller, Greg Lemond, Paul Sherwen, Stephen Roche etc. An excellent read. Excellent photos. 176 pages. £10

INTIMATE PORTRAIT OF TOUR DE FRANCE by Phillipe Brunel and published in 1996. It has one of the very best sets of photos from TDF from the earliest years up until the 1990s. 156 pages. 12 GBP

CONI CYCLING MANUAL 1971 !!Rare!! This is the classic 1971 manual with lots of beautiful illustrations of Campagnolo, Simplex Universal, Mafac as well as the being the best training manual around in the 1970s. The advice it offers is still pretty valid even today and the section on bike fitting has been used by many top framebuilders as the basis on which they size their frames to the rider. This manual was published by CONI (the Central Sports School of FIAC, the Italian Cycling Federation. It is rumoured that Cino Cinelli contributed a lot of the text on the equipment and on bike fit \u2013 this would certainly appear to be the case as it conforms closely to what he recommended. This copy is in excellent condition. 45 GBP

FAUSTO COPPI BOOK by Peter Duker practically perfect copy privately published in 1982. This hardback biography of Fausto Coppi is very rare and has 92 pages which include a section of photographs - Peter Duker was one of the best cycling writers in England in the 1970s/80s. 35 GBP

THE DATA BOOK a collection of Daniel Rebour drawings primarily from the post-war years. It is really fascinating. 210 pages Hardback with dustjacket. Excellent condition. 14 GBP

STURMEY ARCHER MASTER CATALOGUE 1956 Offered for sale is an excellent copy of the 1956 Sturmey Archer Master Catalogue and manual; the pages are quite clean with only a few minor marks. This is an essential manual for Sturmey Archer enthusiasts. With this manual all of the 50s Sturmey hubs can be dismantled and rebuilt - importantly it contains the essential fault finding charts. This Master catalogue contains parts lists, exploded diagrams, assembly and disassembly instructions, gear ratio charts, and axle charts for all the classic Sturmey Archer hubs AW, AG, FG, FW, FM, FC, ASC, AB, AC, AM, TCW, SW as well the Dynohub and brake hubs. 178 pages of absolutely fascinating information and essential for any Sturmey Archer enthusiast. 28 GBP

This comprehensive and well illustrated autobiography details the complete career of Reg Harris, one of Britain\u2019s most successful cyclists ever and a multi world champion. 25 GBP

KING OF THE ROAD by Andrew Ritchie Perhaps the best bicycle history book Offered for sale is an excellent copy of the King of the Road by Andrew Ritchie and published in 1975. This is a wonderful history of cycling and bicycles despite one or two small errors - it has some really great photos not published elsewhere and is very readable. 192 pages Paperback 12 GBP

CYCLINGS CIRCUS Tour of Britain Milk race Offered for sale is an excellent copy of Chas Messenger\u2019s book Cycling\u2019s Circus published in 1971 detailing the history of the Tour of Britain from 1951 to 1956. 183 pages. Excellent with detailed accounts of the races stage by stage each year. 10 GBP

PENGUIN BOOK OF THE BICYCLE Lovely Offered for sale is a very good copy of the Penguin Book of the Bicycle by Rod Watson and Martin Gray published in 1978 This is a very underrated book which has plenty to offer those interested in cycling. There are fascinating sections on Raleigh (including the teram bikes), Reynolds tubing factory, Dave Moulton and lots of history and sport. 332 pages. Rare hardback version 10 GBP
