The SA dynohub is the exception, but all other generators typically churn out 6v, 3 Watts and can be used with any modern style light. To prevent blowing bulbs check that the light has a Zehnerdiode if the dynamo doesn't have it. Halogenbulbs are much brighter than the older style filament bulb, but modern LED's put out 3-4 times as much light

The only LED inserts I know off fit non-threaded (halogen) bulb sockets and are bit of a crutch
