Charles,
Swiss BBs and cups can be found fairly often on ebay if you can accept non-Campi brands like Stronglight, Phil Wood, and TA. Phil Wood is my favorite, and you can find period-correct Phil BBs without too much trouble: Swiss rings are a standard item in Phil's current inventory, too. (I bought some for my 1975ish Allegro last year.)
Any of these options could get your Swiss-threaded bike on the road quickly, if not in 100% period-correct style. And I'll bet you could be happy riding a nice bike with a historically "compromised" BB setup (cups or whole BB) while looking for a period-correct Swiss BB (or cups).
Happy hunting for metric threads,
Jon Spangler Alameda, CA USA (where I just found out to my chagrin that more rain is coming tomorrow and Monday :-(
