[CR] San Diego Ride L'ALPe d' Laguna via Col du Kitchen Creek Saturday

There will be a San Diego Vintage Ride held this Saturday the 19th. We can meet at Balboa Park at 8am and drive to the Mt Laguna general store (Sunrise Hwy). –Or you can meet us at the general store. Be at the general store by 9:30am to purchase the $5 day pass for the park. We’ll park our cars in the Mt Laguna Park at the top of Kitchen creek road. The ride is about 33 miles in length, but is very hilly with a lot of hard climbing, including one section of 11 miles of non-stop climbing. I do not expect to have many takers for this ride, but for the fit and fearless. Be sure to ride your Granny triple setup or you may be pushing your bike up hill all day long. Once we get back to the Mt Laguna Park at the top of kitchen creek road, we’ll sit under a tree and have a picnic (be sure to bring food). Take interstate 8 East for about 70 miles, turn North on Sunrise Hwy. The General Store is about 10 miles to the North of 8.
