How about Evelyn Hamilton in the 1940s, discussed on the list a couple of years ago! It is unclear, IIRC, whether she was involved in the building of the frames herself.

Happy New Year to all, I am temporarily out of self-imposed lurking mode - house issues and major renovations have completely overshadowed any bike related work - moreover, I have no spare cash to spend, so avoiding temptation!!!!. I am still in need of a fork for a 1950 Raleigh Clubman, though - if anyone knows of one please page me.
