Mondia frameset 166279 is a 1971 Special constructed of metric sized Reynolds 531 tubing which is brazed together using a Nervex Pro lugset including a genuine Nervex bottom bracket shell. It was originally painted White with Red to Black fade and had exposed chrome plating on the trailing ends of its rear stays to include its Campagnolo forged 1010 horizontal dropouts with rack eyelets, the center section of the seat tube, and both the upper and lower head lugs. This particular bicycle would also have had exposed chrome plating on the lower one-third of its front fork ends and Vagner fork crown, but it was last sold without its original front fork.

Any help you get with the Mondia's serial I would much appreciate. My Mondia's serial # 166279. The fork steer tube is threaded French which is a finer thread than the British & Italian thread. I have a loose Carlton with the same problem, which is being loose fork threads. Take care and keep the great hood production up.

i picked up a mondia special serial # 153546 late 60-70's ? the bottom bracket seems fine with french stronglight but the head set crown race is not snug and the top cup is loose.
is this a swiss thread thing.
