As far as I have been able to sort out, GIOS is split into two parts now for "legal reasons" according to a friend who is a devotee of GIOS. GIOS branded frames are being made in Japan are geared to casual bikes while the professional level bikes are still made in Italy, including the GIOS Super Record Strada.
