Very occasionally the bottom bracket would be tapped wrong at the manufacturer (Of the bottom bracket shell, not the frame) And usually in any sort of production environment nobody checks new parts to make sure they're made correctly.

I've seen a backwards bottom bracket once before on a Hetchins. Odd that I haven't seen one on a cheap frame yet.

I noticed for the first-time today that the BB cups (both marked 1.370 x 24 TPI) of my '71 P15 are reversed; fixed on left, adj on right. Was this a factory goof, any precedent?
