Larry,

Your tandem looks like a 1974-76 model Gitane. In the late 60s and early 70s (foil decal era), Gitane offered special built tandems made with Reynolds 531 Tandem tubing throughout including an oval bottom tube. They came with Campy hubs, derailleurs, pedals and seatposts, TA Cranks and Mafac cantilever brakes. Probably Ideale 90 saddles too.

The lugs, crown and tubing ends looked just like the standard top end Gitanes but supposedly they were built by Alex Singer for either Gitane or Mel Pinto Imports.
